I saw your video on removing/installing the glides.

The GG for my Mach 12 was not easy to install, but I’ve never tried taking it off and putting it back on. I had to shave some off the ends for it to fit the first time, even after warming it up.

I’d like to buy a hard surface and a carpet glide for my SS12, but not if they fit like my Mach 12 glide.

The Mach 12 is an internal fit, which plugs in.

The Dev is an external fit.
You'll need to cut a notch in the wing and the better the job you do the easier it will be to slide the glides off and on.
If you do a really good job, you'll have to use the set screws to keep the glides from sliding side to side. How handy are you and what do you have in your toolbox?

The SS12 is also an internal fit?

That’s what I want the hard surface/carpet glide for, but I want them to be easily swapped.

Oh sorry, the SS is internal but unlike the Mach 12, it was designed to be used with the metal lips still attached. But I recently figured out that if you remove just the back metal lip it makes popping the glides in and out. Very easy. But you do need to use a carpet awl or ice pick or small Phillips head screwdriver

I had to remove both metal lips from the Mach 12 to get the glide on. The ends of the glide were the problem. I tapered them with a razor and got it on.

I wouldn’t trust 87.96% of any people to grind a notch right

Might be easy to you me and Derek, but most of the world are Marty’s
Ain’t no shame in that, just reality

I get what you're saying so I suggest they take it to a machine shop or a muffler repair place and look for the oldest fattest dude and overalls and pay him a six pack to do it

I did a video once on how to remove material on each bridge so that they didn't leave lines on the carpet.

Somebody here decided to watch the video in a hurry with the sound off and then proceed to ask their technician to do the chore.

The technician cut off all the bridges.

And of course the glide wouldn't stay on in a certain swivel one manufacture took pity on the idiot and gave him a new glide for free...
