So I just got home from Denver. It was a very good experience. While I was away, my wife pulled the trigger on a used 4 by 4 Tacoma I was looking at for a farm truck.... it’s a 2000, in great shape, with only 160,000 km (100,000 miles for you Americans). Just got to put a plow on it, and I’m good to go for the winter.... she and my mom are going to pick it up tomorrow while I’m at work....

Yes, yes I am. I’ve got a 400’ driveway, and last year we had a total of 21’ of snow... sure as heck ain’t doing that with a shovel.... just have to make up for last weeks lost revenue, the cost of the trip, AND the purchase price of the truck... 2 steps forward, 19 backwards....

I love toyota trucks. They dont make the best snow plowers... but for those amounts it might work. Does it have the 2.7 or the 3.4?
3.4.... I wanted something that was smaller, good on fuel, and RELIABILITY was top of the list. I am planning on using it for all yard chores, for all seasons.

Good luck on the gas mileage. Worst truck in its class for gas mileage. Great trucks however.
I’ve had a Ford, Chevy, and a Dodge. I switched to Toyota 10 plus years ago. I’ve got a 2010 Tundra, 2009 4-Runner, And now a 2000 Tacoma. My moms got a 4 Runner, and a Tundra. Besides oil changes, and brakes, no issues WHATSOEVER. I put 8000$ in repairs into my Dodge when I owned it.... gas mileage IDGAS.....

I've had 4 Tundra's, a FJ Cruiser, my wife had a Sequoia but just got a new Rav. One daughter has an older Rav, another daughter has a Camry and my son has had two Tundra's and just bought a new Tacoma.

They aren't perfect but generally a better built vehicle.
See? Listen to Richard... he knows....

My last toyota. I took this over the Rubicon. It had a rear elocker, front Detroit locker, dual transfer cases, a 2.7 3rz from a newer tacoma... fun rig. After the picture was taken I put rock sliders and stuff on it. I had a hard and soft top for it.
No more toyotas, I tow big things so I need a real truck. Cummins power.
