I love hard ball and this is just another reason to use a fantastic product. I think I brought this up a week or so ago.

Is this the first Green protector?

No one can beat Vernon for price and coverage.

I think he say's his product is a "green product" but not green certified. I think what that means is he could pay to get it green certified, but doesn't have the funds (according to the website). Even though it's not certified, I'm going to start offering it, because it really compliments what I have to offer, and you guys say it's great too.

I heard a story about a "new" green chemical that had exactly the same components as the old non-green product. It was green by virtue of the label now being printed using soy ink. This could be a great product, but any unverified green claim these days invites closer scrutiny.

How is it considered green and which certifying body would certify it as green if it were tested by their criteria?

However well intentioned, trying to wade your way through the various (and conflicting!) green certifications is like someone with a "western upbringing" trying to understand eastern religion.

Brahma
by: Ralph Waldo Emerson

If the red slayer think he slays,
Or if the slain think he is slain,
They know not well the subtle ways
I keep, and pass, and turn again.

Far or forgot to me is near;
Shadow and sunlight are the same;
The vanished gods to me appear;
And one to me are shame and fame.

They recon ill who leave me out;
When me they fly, I am the wings;
I am the doubter and the doubt,
I am the hymn the Brahmin sings.

The strong gods pine for my abode,
And pine in vain the sacred Seven;
But thou, meek lover of the good!
Find me, and turn thy back on heaven.

Interpret THAT, then you are ready to begin to understand green certifications.

Sooo... Is the grasshopper to understand that inner peace comes from belief in the goodness of green claims purveyors?

I may be stranded in the backwater of Odinism while those that take that leap of faith pass me by.

As you pass, listen for the one-handed applause. :wink:

No grasshopper, happiness is not to be found in the green fields. On that path you will find only confusion ..........

Those of you who know me even a little bit know that I revere my reputation and honesty. Definately when it comes to business dealings.

If you have talked to me at all, you know my opinion on the "Green" issue. Let me quote the preface
to the green product guide that we discovered - because the author, Michael Ash - says it real well.
"Defining "Green" chemicals is difficult and arbitrary because the concept of "greenness" encompasses a variety of factors: perception, empirical values, geographical area of use, the application for which they are used, available alternatives, and a knowledge of the total manufacturing process."

I have been out-spoken about most of the "green" involved in "green" is simply - money.

I would not be taking this position about our product Soil Blocker, if I did not 100% believe in its accuracy.

The facts are: This is NOT a PRODUCT certification !!!!

This is a certification of EVERY INGREDIENT used in Soil Blocker.

There is a 16 step criteria for a product to be included in this Certification Guide.
Every Soil BLocker ingredient is involved with 14 of those 16 criteria.

As follows:Biodegradable, Environmentally Safe, EPA Exempt, HAP's-Free, Noncarcinogenic, Non-Ozone Depleting, Nonhazardous, Low Global Warming, Non-Toxic, Low Vapor Pressure, VOC Free or Low, SARA - non-reportable, Non-CFC, SNAP Complient.

Now, for those of you who poo-poo the "Green" thing.

I understand.

However, I stand firm in my conviction of the accuracy of that which we are doing.

I am always open for constructive criticism, or disagreement.

Thank You Mikey for allowing me your forum for this rather lengthy address.

Mr Vernon

To be clear, my comments were directed in support of the position you outlined so well in the opening of your message.

I have no first hand knowledge of your product, and would not be critical of anything I had not tested or used myself.

Best wishes.

Michael, this is good info. Put it in writing on your marketing material. That way I can use it.

And also Bryan OHaleck's comments are absolutely correct, there is claims galore these days and the proof as they say is in the pudding. When somebody claims "Green" I listen only when they put it in writing, so that they are legally reponsible and bound by their claim. After all we live in the U of S the land of the lawsuit.
So, when a manufacturer is willing to put in writing how their product complies with the claims- REGARLESS of the certification. I will listen.

It also helps me , since I can incorporate it in my marketing.

Michael, how about 'no animal testing' 'cruelty free' product, does it comply? That is important for me.
