Anybody know why this happens on grout lines, especially on darker colored grout? Using flex w/citrus solve rinsing with fresh water only(turning my solution off). How can I stop this from happening in the future? Thanks.

Is flex a powder?
If yes then powders, certain powders, have history of leaving behind residue, it’s always there you just see it on dark colors

correct...most powders have this problem.....you have to slow down....start at the entrance to your cleaning area...clean in....then edge...and rinse one more time..working your way back out....this always helps......

Hard surface is def my weak area (that i'll acknowledge anyway lol) do you always double rinse? Or just on darker grouts?
My spinner locks down HARD! or not at all if I adjust the relief, so I don't double rinse (not sure of brand It came with my setup and doesn't look like any I've seen online) Haven't had any complaints from customers, but thats not a boast cos they wont always talk to those they should..

Yes...I do it that way every job no matter what the color is...if you go to fast then the water will puddle under the tool and it will not have time to vacuum it all up and your just smearing it...more so if it is sucking down to hard and not allowing the airflow under the tool to suck up...on mine I can adjust the relief..from just cracking it open ..to opening it all the way.....do you use a brush head or the Teflon ....

either way..it is always good practice to clean once and rinse twice...it just good assurance that you removed everything...another thing that is really helpful is to always set fans around and use a microfiber mop and speed dry the surface...then you can see if you are having any problems anywhere that may need looking at before you leave...also leaves the floor spot free and no one will slip and fall....

Photos would help. I think more likely to be efflorescence than any residue from the powder.

Efflorescence happens when water travels through the grout (and sometimes even the concrete under the floor) and picks up calcium and other minerals. As the floor dries, these mineral are left on the surface. Sometimes can be removed with a stiff brushing, but more often needs to be wiped with acid. But if you use too much water, in the acid wash, you have just started the cycle over again. Wipe with damp cloth or sponge. Keep the moisture on the surface so it does not travel through the grout.

Water based sealer is also a culprit

I have used water base sealers since day one and not once had any hazing......
and I have gone behind guys who have used the solvent base or water base...and had to clean up all the hazing....

solvent and/or water base can do this if not applied correctly....
