Well, I am a father of 5 and an avid outdoors-man. Currently reside in Springfield, MO. My business is called Ozarks Carpet Care. I use a Sandia Sniper 3-500-H porty with an extra heater attached. I use a powerwand when necessary and always prespray. I'm a newer business and am currently in the ring fighting the beast called advertising. I hope to learn a lot of different things from everyone. (I will stop learning the day they lay me low) Mainly I hope to get some chemical knowledge first off. Seems to be a ton of different options but I don't like what I use currently. I just feel like the chemicals could be better. Only reason I use what I do is because I have a charge account at the place where I buy it. I will link what mixture I currently use and the one I am leaning toward.

Current mix includes:

Welcome to MB Dan!

Springfield MO has been the home of many carpet cleaners over the years who have been on the boards. Gary Berg, Jackson Lloyd, Guy Steelman, Buddy McClellan, and five or six others I'd have to look up the names.

We had a couple of great Minifests there. Awesome town to visit as well. Bass Pro Shop store #1....

Welcome Dan
Many of us started with portable and then moved to a truck mount. The debate goes back and forth but for the most part we all know a portable will do the job.
What kind of porty are you using?
How long does it take you clean a house with it ie hourly sf?
Do you prevacuum? (inside joke - the others knew I'd ask :icon_cool:)
What brought you into this industry?
WHat's your biggest challenge?

I use a Sandia Sniper which I mounted a Hydroforce heater to. (stock heat wasn't hot enough I felt.)
I use a Rotovac Powerwand on the nasty ones. I also use a Sx7 for tile as well as a big and little Raptor.
Plus a ton of other accessories. I always prespray!!!

My times vary and am trying to speed up without sacrificing quality. I can do a one story 3BDR house in about an hour to an hour and 45 minutes.

I'm not sure I want to answer the pre-vacuum question...lol

I have a friend in TN who does this and since my hand injury makes it hard to work on the RxR anymore I figured I'd give it a try and I'm very glad I did because I love it.

My biggest challenge is advertising and finding the right prespray....Touchy subject in this business I see....lol

I used to run a machine like that, a Cheyenne. I averaged 2.5hrs on the average 3 bdrm house with stairs, that was when I was using a Ninja and working for a dept store where I was pressured for time. I've slowed a little since then. I never was a fast cleaner even before I started vacuuming.

You'll find lots of advertising info on here, just search and or ask
As for prespray, you're fortunate to begin cleaning now. There are several excellent presprays on the market. I'd suggest buying a gallon of two or three of the best and trying them out.
