My guys want a new porty. HELP!
This subject has probably been beaten to death, but I thought there may be something new. We occasionally use them for commercial and residential unreachable carpet and upholstery.

We're not interested in heat or an auto dump. A 20amp
and a 15 amp cord is fine. Don't need to pay for another wand either.

What say you, Board people? Got a good one?

I'm not much help since I have yet to use it myself, but I finally pulled the trigger on an edic 2000cx 12 gallon and heater. One 17amp cord can run two 3 stage vacs and 500psi. Should you need heat another cord will pull 14amps for heat. Yes, some of this power has to be handled with care or breakers will trip but you don't have to use both vacs or 500psi or any heat. Only use what your electrical system will allow. The good thing is you've got it if you need it. The flip side is to buy a machine that uses little power but supplies limited vac, psi or heat. Edic is in Cali so shipping should be better for you than me in Nashville.

What are you wanting to spend? $1500.00-$2,000.00 or 3K or more?

What psi? 100 200 500?

Last fall when we toured Woodard's they had a dozen or more of these in the water/carpet cleaning building. Not sure if they had you on Facetime then????

I asked Tom Blandford about them and he said they loved them.

I run mostly low moisture so don't use porty much. If you run a TM you might not use one much either. Looking back I wish I got a porty with one cord since my main use for it is upholstery it would be much easier to set-up and not as heavy. That being said my 1003dx has been very good to me.. Just sorta wish I had one that was light enough to not need a ramp and only one cord for ease.

So I guess it depends on what you will use it most for.

The Edic is one cord if not using the heater

We use Mytee M-5 portables.
If you are going to be pulling them upstairs avoid any porty that has anything protruding out the rear near the wheels that might get caught on the lips of the stairs or that is front heavy.
Use only portys that can handle 2inch hose and at least 50 ft.-- moving the porty around on jobs wastes time.
