I had a call today from a designer that is in town from New York doing a show at one of the casinos. They had these Coture purse bags in a warehouse that flooded and they have dirt on them and a bit of a mildew smell. Well they want 1000 of them cleaned in 2 days. I'm going to pick a few up tomorrow to test and see if they can be cleaned w hand wand upholstery tools, fiber rinse and odor removers. Anything different you would recommend to use on these? See attached images. I'm charging $2.00 a bag, would you do more?

Btw: he said he has called everywhere and people don't know how to do it hence why he's trying a carpet cleaning service. These bags CAN get moisture on them without damaging. They are made of denim.

Attempted to find that out to and the guy never sent me a price for the bag. I chose $2 per bag as I think with 4 guys working on this and myself we can get threw them quickly. I will test first tomorrow when we pick them up at 6am to see how that crap removes or not first. I'm guessing at least $100 a bag, this show they are presenting them at is at a high end casino. Expecting to get them done within 5 hours.

I'm more worried about what might need to be used to clean whatever that is.

If they are more difficult to clean then I'm expecting, I will call their corporate and raise that pricing.

Does that look like possible mold on the bag or dirt? Customer doesn't know either. If it's mold we won't be doing it.

I just got an email back. The bags are for the show as gift bags so are less expensive then I thought. They are $34 per bag.

$3 a bag. Not sure about those spots. The brown looks like dirt.

I'd go for unless then $5 per bag. "No one" else can do them. They are in a time crunch. Rush order of new ones will coat way more then $34 pet bag.

And it's New York. Price accordingly.

Looks like dirt. A dry upholstery tool would make quick work of it but $2.00 could be really low. Lets say you can do 30 in an hour. Thats only $60.00. :icon_neutral:

$4-$5.00 each???

Better hope you can do more then 30 an hour lol. You would be 33 hours into this job if you have to do 1000.

Ok, hopefully just dirt. That would make this an easier task. I would have 4 or 5 guys working on these. I plan on having them done in 4 or 5 hours. I'll profit either way. $5 would be nice, $3 sounds to be a bit more reasonable otherwise maybe they just wouldn't pass out the bags. It is probably a one time deal since this was an F up on part of the convention coordinator.

I should mention, about 300 of these will only need an enzyme or deodorizer to get rid of the smell - no dirt on 300 (approx).

What about the inside of the bag. If there is dirt inside could slow you way down

Some do have mold on them. I've stocked up on supplies to clean all and reached an agreement to charge $5 per bag. It's not going to be as easy as first thought. On top of that they need 500 by tomorrow.
