Help with cleaning vertical mounted blower

59 Blower installed has alot of crud or rust on the lobes. It is mounted vertical so I am worried about water standing in the bottom if I flush.

Any easy suggestions on how to rinse or clean this baby?

take it out, put it in the dishwasher.

You can still flush as normal...it would seem that horizontal would leave more water in....jus run it for a min or two...the water WILL be gone!

Doesn't vertical mean top and bottom holes...what's the problem?

No the in/out is horizontal. The blower is mounted standing up.

ONLY clear water.......I start with a small stream and build up so as not to hit it all at once!

The first time ...do it till it comes out clear water!

I would use a little soap to help with the crud,and like Bob said let it run a little and add wd40.
