man i love my new butler more than anything.....but i have to tell ya that it is a different truck...i added greenies 2" fixed up wand and his 2-1/2" hose kit that bypasses butlers live reel and man oh man....my truck sucks like a full blown porn star!!
i was getting 1-2hr dry times...that is cut well in 1/2.
my assistant freaked when he ran his hand across a room i had finished no less than 5 mins earlier...he came up to me and grabbed the wand and told me to go see for myself that the carpet was all but dry.
anyone that is not using this kit is really loosing out as well as there customers.
thanks for sucking so much greenie

If you have the 210 gallon recovery tank it's tough to get everything just right and looking good. On the other hand if you have the 110 gallon recovery tank it's a breeze.

yep, I've been running Greenies 2 inch wand and 2.5 hose set-up off the 2.5 filter box and its a screamer.

its such short money to spend for such a major improvement to your system. Where else can you have Vortex like suction with an investment of less than a $1000?

I've been trying to get Greenie to give me some advice on wand for my truck as well as a glide for a stair tool, I believe I have a compatible wand but I'm not sure. I am also thinking about one of his bayco valves too. I haven't been able to get a follow up as of yet, I know I should just probably call him but I try to avoid talking on the phone. I understand that he's a busy man so I'm not upset but I'm very interested in getting the most I can get from my truck. I can understand how it's hard for one man to pimp everyone's gear. Oh and I'm one of the poor guys trying to make enough to become a supporting member.

Welcome to the board Tim. Greenie is The Man on wands. You will probably have to bite the bullet and call him. If I can help any way let me know.

Hey Tim!
I checked email, and I checked PMs, nothing from a TimP, hit me with an email anytime you got a free minute and I'll try and be of help, many times you don't have to spend much money, just make some adjustments for now to pimp your rig.

I'm currently using one of Greenie's wands and some of Joe's 2.5 inch hose on my 36 unit. Vast improvement in ease of use and dry times. I've put my Oden vac booster on the shelf as a result. However, to think that Butler should incorporate Greenies ideas into their package is a bit short sighted, in my opinion.

Butler has always made their rigs to meet the needs of the majority of cleaners who clean in the traditional way. Going to a Green glided wand requires a cleaner to prevacuum, make extra dry strokes and deal with non-live hose reels. All these factors cause an increase in job time. Time is money in the $99.95 world of carpet cleaning. While Greenie's wand retro-fit kit, which angles the jets towards the glide, does reduce the overspray that results from adding a glide to a wand, it doesn't eliminate it totally.

If you were already getting 1 to 2 hour dry times with a standard Butler set-up, I'm proud for you that you cut that in half by going to a glided wand and 2.5 inch hose. I'm certainly not making light of that improvement. Good for you. However, if I were running crews and living in the $99.95 cleaning world I would be very happy with 2 hour drying times. And not to have to depend on a 21 year old to prevacuum thoroughly and make dry strokes would be worth the extra hour of drying.

Not to mention the profit from the extra house, or two, he might be able to clean by not being hamstrung with breaking down hoses, prevacuuming and making dry passes.

Try to remember that there is a real world out there that runs in another dimension from our bulletin board world, and the vast majority of carpet cleaners, in fact most of the market for TM purchasers, live in that "other" world.

That is why Ford offers a Eddie Bauer Limited Edition Marty. Some want deluxe, some dont.

I bet if Butler or anyone else who sells a complete package, offered a Green Glides Pimped Edition, they would have a lot of takers.

And maybe, just maybe, we would see this industry step up a few notches.

Butler still sells their setups with a 25 foot 1.5 inch lead hose.

I was at a condo complex and when I was wrapping up I went over to a guy that was running a Butler doing an empty unit.

He had 150 feet of hose attached with 50 feet of it still on the reel with a 25 foot 1 and a half inch lead hose.

Marty is correct, the avg. cleaner doesn't know or care about how to improve vacuum... and not too many manufacturers are too concerned about it either.

There is a huge market out there for Greenie or other guys to enlighten our industry on performance that is ALREADY THERE!

The smart ones will be the companies that will try to team up and make a buck off these innovations.

Maybe not, but I bet they would care about all the good that happens with more suck.

Happier clients who tell their friends about how quick it dried and no spots returned and how much brighter it looks and it feels softer....

I totally agree Mike, it needs to be brought to the cleaners so they can see the benefits.

My example illustrates that Butler is not proactive in their approach.

I was so impressed with Greenies 2.5 hookup and wand that when I purchase another truck, I'll be happy with a 47 blower again.

I think Butler is actually starting to listen.

Jack is a member here after all....

I am really looking forward to seeing their new rig in Vegas.

Personally, I'd want 100 ft of 2.5 inch and 50 of 2 inch. Still on a live reel.

I'd wand a 59 or 6008 blower and round waste tanks with two 2.5 inch openings. I'd want the two Y'd to the hose reel, but with the ability to break the Y if I wanted to dual wand.

I want the option to live clean everything, unless I'm dual wanding.

I know someone who makes 2.5" live reels, the 2.5 buys you a lot more "air to spare", and as long as you pulled most of it off most days it would be just what Marty is looking for.

Ain't gonna happen in a Butler van though.

90% of our 2.5 hose guys only pull 100-125' every day, and only 50-75' of that is 2.5, the rest being their 2" superflex lead hose.

Guys aren't resistant to 2" wands, it's the 2" stiff hose that fills our ranks they hate, distributors and Mfgs know this, but the cleaners are always "opting for" the cheaper hose, the whole thing just feeds apon it's self.

And for Marty, even a 56 at 16"hg with a 3" hose to the live reel hub would have you sweating once again.
Nobody has got more than 405 cfm through a 2.5" yet....to my knowledge.
