No, but I just applied for Amazon Home Services here in NV

Congratulations! Your company has been pre-selected as a top rated professional service pro and are invited to apply for Selling Services on Amazon.

What's in it for me?

  • No lead fees, no monthly subscription fees and no startup fees, you only pay for the jobs you complete
  • Sell your professional services to Amazon customers in your area
  • Hand-picked pros so you only compete with top-rated professionals
How does it work?

Amazon customers can now easily find and buy professional services on Amazon, just like products. When customers in your area are searching for professional services, your company will be available for them to choose.

Stop wasting money and time chasing leads that don't turn into jobs. Leverage the trust of Amazon to help grow your business now.

What's the % does Amazon take on the jobs completed? I thought it was high and forgot the amount.

Home advisor sells those leads to multiple firms and is no guarantee you will even get the work. That $18 can eat up profits pretty quickly if you pay for alot of leads that dont turn into income producing jobs and your average invoice isn't very high.
I don't think I've gotten a single decent lead from Angie's List and some from yelp are a joke... one yelper wanted a bid to clean her closet.

our minimum fee is $180. we add 4% Obama health care fee to all invoices just like some of the restaurants do in SF.
This has enabled us to give our techs Gold level heath care coverage.
Ofer you might want to do the same- since you've had 5 operations.?. and are getting older.

I charge what I think is right. The client decides if its worth it to them. I don't need to tack on all these added charges to make a decent living.
I hate it when its done to me. I don't do it to my clients.

sf x price seldom equals a round number
You round it down, Martin.
Down.

Because our techs are on commission I would have had to increase prices by about 10% to get same effect as the 4% fee.

happy, healthy, well paid techs equals happy customers; and decreases turnover (which I haven't had in about 8 years)-- which our regular customers like.

Maybe having a health care benefit will help you- Ofer- attract and retain a decent worker?

Tried it. Didn't work for me. They got paid well. Never needed to tack any extra charge to afford an employee. Not looking for an employee any more and you should be grateful, as you get many referrals from me.

I ain't tacking health benefit surcharge and or gas surcharge, nor skiing in the sierra surcharge or for that matter, any surcharge. Just straight forward non nonsense pricing.

No nickel and dime-ing my clients.

Glad it works for you.

I'm Thankful-- and sometimes envious of you being an OO... you probably have a lot less stress and higher profit then me.
Glad it works for you too. :very_drunk:

Less stress. More operations :winky:

I tried the employee rout and it did not work for me. I have nothing but respect for your ability to keep employees for such a long time. Quite an accomplishment and a small miracle in the Bay Area.

But as Mr. P. said- I am what I am and that's what I am.
He must have known me.
