Hoss motor occasionally strains and clicks on some carpets. Has happened since new. Happens with steel and plastic shoes. Happens with 14 and 12 gauge cord. Been happening more frequently and happened on both jobs, Berber and cut pile, yesterday.

Does yours do this? Used to think it is from soap left in carpet by previous cleaner. What do yall think?

Much obliged.

Has not happened with my HOSS. I wonder if you got a lemon motor to start with. Been running mine at least 2 years.

A bad motor sounds possible. My 360i had a bad motor which Rotovac recalled and sent me a new machine. Your Hoss shouldn't bog down at all.

What size cord are you using? This has happened to me when using longer and smaller gauge cords.

Mine hasn't yet. Only had it a few months though.
I wouldn't think these motirs would ever go out.
My old Rx is really strong after yrs of occasional use.

I use a heavy 50' cord. Depending on the motor an undersized cord can definitely cause problems. 12 is plenty heavy but not all cords are created equal. I have one which won't run much, not sure why.

I've had it bog when I've run 2.5 hose straight to it.:hopeless::oldrolleyes:

or a weak circuit at the random house.

All REs will do that.
