I so want to take a grooming brush or rake in and do the grooming when I see that actually....

And we do make comments about that too.....

Thought I was the only carpet cleaning nerd going nuts over that....

Most carpet cleaners I see video of on the web don't groom they leave the saw tooth look an i hate tthat. Groom people stop being lazy!

Carpet continues to be "deselected" (I hate the word so don't ask me why I just used it, but I did) as a floor covering when homes are remodeled, put up for sale, etc.

Images of poorly cleaned carpet just scream "PUT TILE, HARDWOOD, LAMINATE IN THERE NOW!", which for most "carpet and upholstery only" cleaners is bad news.

In the limited social life two businesses allows me, I find more and more I am visiting homes that no longer have wall to wall carpet except in bedrooms.

The other flooring choices have improved the quality of the product the offer as well as marketing it in stores.
Carpet mills need to improve and innovate to keep up.

Don't groom carpets here. My customers love the nice even lines and I hate the way a groomed carpet looks.

I honestly had to tell my helper today to quit doing such an amazing job grooming the carpet with such intricate detail. I told him its good to groom, but we dont need to be anal about it. Time's a tickin you know.

I groom on the rare occasion where the carpet looks better groomed. The vast majority of times it doesn't.

But this thread was dead when it arrived. I'm not going to keep giving it CPR.

Never! Most people love that look! It looks like it was cleaned.. It's my defense against traffic lanes in poly carpet(houses for sale big plus). When you groom it it looks WORSE then if you left the triangle. You guys just groom it to give yourselves another step to your 34 step cleaning process(as important as looking at the carpet with your pocket microscope, or fiber identification)..

Really don't care how you do it, this year is kicking my ass up 25% with almost NO marketing..

There are two things that I never do:

-Post groom synthetic carpet.

-Debate post grooming on online forums.

Call it lazy, but they keep referring me.. Must be my smile (I have all of my teef) , big bonus!! Hey if people love your service, why change? Trust me after working on some of these yahoo's equipment around here they will love and except the triangle.. lol

At the business I cleaned for above I gave out two cards(they asked I should say) to employees and the president called me to clean for him.. A good triangle is hard to come by I suppose.. Bad triangles should be raked out.

That's what I'm going for.. It's a big market here! My guy cleans just like me great triangles, I told him make them perfect or you can groom them all.. lol
