I replace my hose every year. I don't like Goodyear because it sticks to everything. Hard to roll up and dog hair loves it.
It's easy to stop the Black Death from spraying. My lead end has a piece of 3/4" Id clear hose 5' long over it. A hose clamp around the fitting and your good to go. The hose will last longer because now you have a real strain relief and the Black Death just dribbles out the bottom end. I can't be the only one doing it this way.

Picture please
what happens the lead hose for some undermined reason gets pulled along a wood floor? Could that happen?
Is there some kind of hose covering you can use for your 100ft in the home? Something that would prevent scuffs and reduce the heat transfer?

After reading related post, it is obvious that the "safest" hose would be the parflex.
