How do you burp a hx

I always get it done but first the machine shuts down because of low water and finally I get out all the air. What is the correct procedure.

No, it's on my machine. I always leave the upper valve open until liquid flows but the first run it still shuts down. this time i let it sit and then ran for 5 sec and then bleed the hx again. it seemed to work. it always gives me a little trouble. i figure there must be a correct procedure
