How much flow on RX-20 HE

How much flow would you run on the RX. I have 7.5 flow. Does great on some carpets and others not so much. I think my problem is the shoes that are on it. They are worn and do not run smooth. Going back to the new style slot. Should run a lot smoother. Anyways I was thinking about going to 5 flow but afraid water will get too hot. Maybe I should do two 80015 jets and three 8001 for 6 flow.

what kind of truck do you have?

I went with 8002 jets all around and would not go any smaller!

get either Lisa's glides or Kens

I have Kens which are his are version 5. they are 1.5" wide!
I have put a ton of use on them with barely any visible wear at all

I have glides for it. Cleans a lot deeper on pile carpets without them.

I run an EVEREST.

I think my problem is the slots. Machine wobbles because the slots are worn down.

Factory ones are pretty bad. Do a search on the different forms, the majority of people agree.
Get new ones :)

Try ten flow and go from there.

Ya'll kill me. 10 flow on a rotary.

Sorry my machine can't handle that.

I don't have the 650.

I'll stick with 7.5 and go down if I need to.

my old truck didn't have much more cfm then your unit and it was just fine Daniel.

Especially when you can run 4 to the door! - Are you doing that yet?

something I wish I knew about back then.

I dont think you will be happier lowering your flow...
In fact if I was a betting man I would do so with you lol

I prefer the 10 flow on high speed RX for fewer clogged jets but we dial the pressure down to 250-300 so as not to over wet carpets.

If the RX is wobbling, its probably because one of the spring steel shoe holders may be bent. If you're running glides, I doubt that that is the cause of your problem. Unless, one glide isn't seated properly. Here's what we do....

1. Take off the star and remove the glides.
2. Place the star on a level surface and see which one isn't touching the floor.
3. Place that arm of the star in a vise and gently, but firmly bend the arm.
4. Repeat until all shoes touch the surface.

It takes patience! But that's what we've done to stop the wobble.

BTW: We also run Everests, and the jets we use are 9502 or 8502 -- depends on what mood I'm in!

They are great. I had his version 3 on my old tm ( 3/4"wide)
These run nicer...from memory lol
As mentioned above like no wear on them yet.
This rx was the worthless 3 jet/half slot model. So I would have needed the glides plus shoes from Lisa.
At the time the price difference justified it.
Next time/machine probably Lisa's glides.
