Each model (sutorbilt/roots/tuthill) is slightly different, and horizontal configurations (pipe out top/bottom) hold more lube than vertical configurations.

Three plugs in each, arranged to work in either configuration. Bottom is drain, Top is fill/vent. Middle is level indicator.

Pull bottom plug, let drain, replace plug.

Pull middle plug and top plug, fill until lube comes out middle plug. Replace each.

Don't mix plugs, the vent has to be in the TOP spot.

For Roots URAI specifically, your quart will do up to a 59 blower in either orientation, and also a 65/68 vertical, but not horizontal. That's assuming your blower is not a DSL, where you need oil on both ends.

Incidentally, Roots specifies your ISO 220 oil for up to 90 degrees ambient, and 320 for above 90.

Like Lee says, check the manual for your specific blower.

Use Aeon PD P/N 28G23 or Aeon PD-XD (high temp) for Sutorbilt Legend series, Pneulube ISO 100 for MD/Tuthill Competior series & ROOTS® Synthetic Oil ISO 320 P/N 813-106-320 for Roots URAI blowers.
We carry all three, so as to be in total warranty compliance for the separate blower brands, each specifying a bit different ISO viscosity when using a synthetic.

Drain it hot into a 1/2 gallon containers and then mark the container. That's the exact amount that came out so replace it with the same. Works for everything, just change to a larger container for bigger items.
