How often does your Parflex spring a leak?

My six month old 100 footer just got it's second set of pinholes.

Happened on the other end about a month ago.

I think this is about average for all my Parflex lengths.

Pin holes sure beat the black death eruptions of Eneptune.

Have you ever had a Parflex burst?

I have had Parflex bust at Ss. But it was rare and they seemed to last for ever. But you have much more heat then the SS trucks they maxed @ 220-230 at the truck.

14+ years using Parker and 11 years running Powermatic TM heat.

Depends on how hot we continuously run as to how long it lasts.

a steady diet of 240+, we develop pin sprays nearest the TM pretty quick.
With in a few months.

at the "normal" temps we generally run, (that would be 210 to 230 range with about 10 to 15% of our temps in the 240 to 270 range), we get about about a year or more out of it.

Never had one burst, but have spit one fitting ATM about 10 years ago.
It should be noted, that wasn't a crimp fitting, but one of my own repairs to a line that was well past it's prime

Mikey;

The Parflex 1035 HighTemp comes from the factory with a pin-pricked cover.

The purpose of the holes is to indicate any leaks.

Usually, any leaks we see are failures at the crimp fittings. That is usually due to bending stress on the hose @ the crimp.

I had mine blow a bubble right at the crimp, it was coming out of my LP heater. Otherwise, I've had pinhole leaks many times and drips from the crimps when cold from day one.

my stuff I got from cobb, is over 1.5yrs old and going strong, however since getting my KMA 100 fter its been put on the back of my reel, so it doesn't see as much use or bending etc, next summer I plan to turn my KMA around and the wand end will be the back in this way the bending stress will be put on the other end, hopefully this will help with hose life, however I am prolly not that good a person to ask because I don't run that many hours cleaning a year, but the goodyear stuff I used to run was toast in a year
