The large folds on the Sanitaire filters tend to collect a lot of debris.. and while the suction still works well, its a pIA to clean out. So make clean up a little easier:

Does it really need a filter on the inside? The intake swirls around it and causing it to collect
the smaller stuff. I've noticed that leaving it full of crap just causes everything to collect at the bottom.

I suppose if you want to clog up your hepa filter.. by all means. but yes it does need a filter inside, but as it clogs up, it does lose suction. This helps prevent it.

Better than an 887, No upper bag to clean out, nice large dust cup, great suction, and they changed up the belts to the flat style, I think I have had to change belts maybe at the 6 month mark and that was only because it had gotten cut on one side. The filter is the only drawback and its really not that bad. Usually I blow my filters out with a compressor but its been so cold and snowy this winter that I've been a little lazy about it.
