I got a call yesterday, as I was talking to the customer flags were going up, complaining about previous workers, telling me her medical conditions, questioning my cleaning method, taking longer than needed (just the facts ma'am) ect, ect.
About halfway through I really did not want to book the job but didn't know how to say I don't want your business without her getting offended and risk a bad review on google.
We talked long enough that I felt I couldn't say i'm booked to far out to book any new jobs.
Any advice how to tell customers you don't want there business without offending them to much?

You can still say no when you get there. The majority of people are too lazy to leave a review. That would be my last concern.
Secondly. Learn how to control the conversation on the phone. Ask them what they need and give them a price. If they start rambling just cut them off and say would you like to schedule an appointment. If they ramble more. Please feel free to call back when you are ready. Good day.

And if they have a bunch of questions about your cleaning technique or system. Just tell him that you take your time and make sure you do it right there’s no one way to clean carpet.
