Always wondered how HydraMaster got its name. A hydra is a small, solitary marine polyp, or a multifaceted problem, or Hydra is a Greek mythological god with nine heads.

What is notable size. Wasn't Daune a rug sucker first.
How many units a year do the big 3 shift each.
Do any of them have cleaners in a focus group..or are we the worse bunch of winning bitches they ever came aacross
Are the truckmounts they put out worth the cost, or are they underpriced considering the ROI a cleaner can make with a good machine

Mike was offered the job but we don't pay enough. Plus, he could not have spent as much time on Mikeys Board.

Um, yeah. HydraMaster.
Mike Palmer was a carpet cleaner. Dave Burns bought some of his garage-built units and helped work out the kinks. Dave subsequently bought Mike's old company when he went into manufacturing full time.

There are probably a lot, these are the ones that come to mind.

Drieaz was started by Claude Blackburn and he ran it for many years until he sold it. Cliff Zlotnik did the same with his company, Unsmoke and Ernie Storrer from injectidry still runs a very successful business while manufacturing equipment. Kurt Bolden ran both a successful cleaning & restoration business and manufacturing business before he sold them both to go into the educational center business.

Bill Bane's family cleaned offices, then carpets from 1962 for a few years. Then they distributed machines made by Gibralter out of MI, before buying the rights to the machine and making them from 1969 or so.
