Presently the
CDS XDRIVE remains in beta testing at several locations around the country. Part of beta testing a new truckmount includes things like seeing how it operates under a number of different conditions; including prolonged operation in cold conditions, prolonged exposure to high ambient hot temperatures, high altitude operation, and operation by owner-operated companies as well as fleet companies. Thorough beta testing assures that real world performance meets or exceeds the high standards that our design team and engineers establish during product development.
Also, the first LRIP units are now coming off the manufacturing line. LRIP stands for Low Rate Initial Production. That is simply a fancy engineering term to describe an initial production run of the unit after all changes have been made as a result of the beta testing. What it means to you and me is simply a second round of beta testing utilizing a low production run of units delivered to a pre-selected group of cleaning companies. These companies participate with us in doing further testing of the units before the full production run. LRIP units are starting to be delivered this month.
The whole idea behind this level of comprehensive pre-launch testing is to do any necessary modifications prior to the delivery of the first regular production machines rather than asking the first purchasers to have to make those modifications. If all benchmarks are met by the Beta and LRIP testers, we plan on having two units at the Experience in Vegas - one outside in our outside booth running and one inside installed for those who would prefer to see it in cooler weather. We will have a
CDS at the
Mikeyfest tent demo area.
