We looked at them way back in the early 80's we had a rep come in from Wichita showing the unit.

Even back then they had the cool shearing tools for carpet cleaning and upholstery but they were setup with a recycle line in and out line.
It was a tough sell when the dirty water was so cloudy and you were using it to continue to clean. Plus the unit was very pricy!

The makers of that unit should be excommunicated from this industry. Even encapping seems like a more acceptable approach to this gig.

This whole -recycle the water- thing is disgusting.

Bane used to have a recycling system. I never saw it in action, just early literature. May have been before Bill Yeadon's tenure there.

They promoted it in areas that had scarcity of water like the American southwest.

CFR is best known to our industry for their pioneering work with "dry tools" for upholstery cleaning.

The recycling issue is one that may one day face our industry, but thus far the trade off isn't nearly worth it.

I don't think we need to be afraid of water shortage.... I think it is a bit manufactured to scare people.

If it comes to being in REAL need of water -we will just start employing and developing better desalination techniques. There is a rather large amount of ocean water out there that we can work with.

This has been around for a very long time, and a lot of janitorial companies use it before bonneting, so at least they are pulling soil out of the carpet, before smearing the rest down to the bottom.

Yes encap, bonneting and op, just shake everything to the bottom, other than the very little they remove with their agitating media.

PLEASE DONT TRY AND DEFEND YOUR METHOD, TRYING TO DEFEND ONES IMMORAL BUT PROFITABLE METHODS OF MAKING MONEY LEAVES NO ROOM FOR HONOR.

It's supposed to be "green",but I would say it's more "brown".

Earthy, back to nature! A little dirt left behind to build up your natural immunity! Gotta be some way to sell it..... :eekk:

Have a friend down the road from me that has one of those....

He is a teacher and used to clean part time in the summers.

I will have to see if he still has it and try to get pics....etc....

They've been selling them for more than 30 years. I think they are built well, you just have to change filters and use their proprietary low foaming solutions.

I could sell that easy... I am the only one in town that can suck out your cat pee and then spred it evenly across the whole carpet in diluted form.

That way the whole place will have an even stink,

Back when I worked for Sears in the late aideeze .. they had me use one and yep .. thats exactly what I did .. I spread cat piss from living room to steps. Then another job I had a pink carpet in the bed room. I keyed the wand and created a chocolate brown line. I had a hell of a time removing it.

Lee, I was there. It was a system 5 with and additional solution hose that was going too use Brown Out. I don't believe they ever sold one.

That was the "patented" system. They marketed the patent number on print ads from that effort.

The recycling system involved a settling tank and filters.

The recirculating systems are meant for commercial areas where an even spread of soil is acceptable. Hydramaster even made a recirculating spotter that looked like a stick vacuum, specifically to be hooked on a janitorial cleaning cart. We put a little water tank on ours, converting it into a more standard squirt and suck device.

Everyday I go out and look but have yet to find the mud.
I walk the earth like Cain but have yet to find it.

Using the "OJ Simpson" definition of looking?

OJ was innocent! He said so himself.

He even offered a reward for information leading to his wife's killer.

Does that mean he would take money out of one pocket and put it in the other? :eekk:

OJ was looking for the real killer on the golf course, so it was fairly evident that he knew where the culprit was but as hard as he looked down the fairway, he didn't see the guy there.

Keep walking the earth buddy, maybe there's a CFR unit out there.
