I did a rug bath on two cheap ass rugs. Here's why I did it...

I was rushing to pick up these rugs from this lady's house on an early Monday morning so they could be cleaned. I had a slammed week of work this week, and I told her that I'll clean them and deliver them back to her in about a week... So I rolled them up, threw them in the back of the truck, and took off. My week was non stop:clap:

So a couple days ago, when I had time to inspect them, I discovered three things:
1. They were cheap ass, synthetic rugs.
2. They were over 75% drenched in ankle biting piss.
3. After wasting my time on trying to do just HWE, I had to give them a rug bath.

I learned a valuable lesson after doing a rug bath until :hopeless:9:30 last night (Friday) :hopeless:...
Do the inspection BEFORE you leave the customer's home, LOL. If I wasn't in such a hurry, I would've found out that these rugs need a bath, and the cost to do that exceeded the value of the rugs, in which case I would've told her to just buy some new rugs. But since I never explained to her the process needed to clean the rugs, I'm gonna have to shoot myself in the foot on this one, and just charge her for a normal cleaning. My conscience won't allow me to charge her over $300 for just $250rugs

Have had to chalk a couple of times up to "Educational moments"

and I must be a slow learner....LOL...because it seems to happen on occasion in other situations too.....

be thankful that the financial risk of cleaning those rugs is less then If they were wool and actually easier to clean them.

Always let the customer decide if it is worth it to clean. I have had many customers pay over replacment cost because they like those particular rugs. Doesn't make sense to me, but it does to them.
