This rug isn’t that old.

Could this be a form of smoke damage from those cancer plug ins?

or the kitchen, or dogs, or lotioned feet, or asphalt driveway

but most likely cause you clean it every two months :D

what is she trying to cover up with the plugins?
She has indoor dogs and that's why I come every 2months. There have been pet accidents on it and she calls me every time one happens which is about every 1-2months. It might be lotioned feet, but I think my cleaning would show better results.

As for the crappy poly...I don't know if it'd show up this quickly. Her house has that strong glade plug in smell that makes you nauseous. That's why I think it's a minor smoke damage.

I'll find out at the end of this month if it can be removed. I'm taking it to a one day hands on rug washing class and we'll see what we can do. I'll let ya'll know the results. If it's crappy poly...I'll admit to being wrong

You should buy Damon's rug plant equipment

https://blog.aramsco.com/polyester-carpet-responds-to-special-surfactant I am not sure what you use, but the article describes formulas for polyester relying more on surfactancy than alkalinity and solvency. Prochem's Renovate was introduced before my time and was the standard for years. This type of formula works best on particle soil in polyester fibers and soot removal. There is a strong attraction which helps draw dry soil away from surface into the solution.
