Lemme guess - the filter that has the straight shot fills up quicker. This would make sense - the inertia of the particulates would tend to carry them straight through.

Much ado about nothing, only a 15 deg. difference in deflection. Much more resistance in a loop of hose.

There must be another factor.

Dan has it. Just because the particles take a certain path doesn't mean that the air flow is mismatched.
