Is it just here or are there more places going with bare concrete floors? I've got a 650 sf clean and coat today along with another apartment building with 3500 sf to do. It seems there's getting to be more and more of this around here. It's really simple to do and very profitable...

How are you cleaning it?

Depends on what's already there. Today I'm using a nuetral cleaner, a 175 and a blue pad to prep, Buckeye Proclaim as a finish as it just had an epoxy applied a couple of weeks ago and urethane products work well with that. On some they've put finish on so it has to be stripped. Depends. I'll post pics at the end of the day.

I borrowed an auto scrubber for a few without finish. Have a smaller one coming up planning on 175 with tile wand.

On bigger ones like warehouse floors an auto scrubber would be the shiz, but today it's a 175 and the gekko.

The only predictable thing about concrete is that it is unpredictable. Thinking it will always be simple and quick money will inevitably come back and bite you in the ass. Moisture can be a problem in some slabs, and coating it will exacerbate the issue, so just keep an eye out.

If you stick to the basic procedures, like honing and polishing, densifying, etc. you should be okay most of the time. When you get into filling, staining, coating, etc. is when the weird stuff starts to happen.

I'm keeping it really simple. Clean and apply finish - that's pretty simple.
Here's todays stuff.

Nice job Willy!

Seen some places using plain concrete. A couple restaurants put in concrete bars in their watering holes but even those were just plain concrete with what I am assuming was an epoxy coating on it without any staining or acid etching to give it some color or design?
