sure you can be a dick and tell the homeowner to call a handyman or tile setter when you expose or cause loose or missing grout, because technically, ti's not your fault..

but that act of cowardice isn't going to earn you any referrals..

Well, Mildred, it looks better but now our grout has missing areas and cracks and the cleaner guy left it up to us to fix it....


Or you can carry a couple kits of the most popular brands and learn to do these simple repairs.

repair skills lead to multi day jobs where you're working on showers, counters and all the rest which usually have couple thousand dollar tickets.

some are intimidated by this and would rather deal with two hour jobs they can set their nap schedule around.

There is no "best" Bob


you want to figure out who are the top 3 or 4 best selling grout manufacturers in your area are , and get a kit from each.

Home Depot/Lowes sells Polyblend/Custom so that's a given, call them at 800 282 8789 and request a free kit, make sure to order the plastic not the paper chart


Go visit your biggest tile retailers, tell them you clean and repair grout in the area and that your old kit is missing too many selections, don't tell them you are new to this if you expect any referrals.
