If you're on a well and you're 1,000 ft or further from a fire hydrant you get one of these in your garage around here...

I don't know what the hell that thing is? But I'm on a well and we have a 2000 gallon cistern to back everything up.

Have you seen how low Lake Shasta is!?
You might want to add water storage or rain harvesting to your new shop.
Yes. Its really sad. We’re in big trouble this year. Whiskey Town reservoir is full.

I’m looking for some large tanks for the new shop.

Can't believe residential rain harvesting would be illegal. My parents place in Saskatchewan had 4-45 gallon drums. One at each corner of the house tapped in to the down spouts. Summertime when it was dry and they had water restrictions, they always had enough to water the gardens.

Isn't rain harvesting illegal in your state?

it does need to be plumbed a certain way and a building permit would be needed. But Rain is a gift from God, so Fuk the govt and its stupid regulations.

After reading the confusing legal text, I think Rain harvesting is legal now because it would help conserve water.

Some ******* idiot inspector with a clipboard forced the homeowner into buying more crap.

I'm the guy with the clipboard now.
There's nothing like that here.

what's the purpose of it other than water storage?
Out of that tank, or from the faucet, the homeowner hasn't used more or less water than they do

I’ve been told from a few people that any new construction here needs to have a Electric Vehicle charging station even if you don’t own a EV.. so some people don’t want to rebuild their homes because of the “mandate”..

I heard a statistic that I have not verified, but I heard that a wind turbine will never generate the energy that it took to make the wind turbine in its life span, and that the making the lithium batteries for the electric cars also takes an insane amount of mining, and the batteries aren't recyclable.

I don’t think water is the preferred method to suppress lectricol fires….

A corrupt official takes a big payoff from the developer so the developer can put in a 4 inch main instead of an 8 inch main or skip putting in a neighborhood retention tank... Then you put the expense of the retention tank on the individual homeowner.

Yeah, I know a corrupt Pierce County Executive that did exactly that. Never even a whiff of an investigation, even when homes burned down because the fire hydrants didn't work.

I hope they can supply enough power to charge all them letric cars. Here in N.C. the power company begs everybody to not run their AC too much in the summer because they can't keep up.

I suspect the brief power outages (30 seconds or so) that happen during the summer are meant to turn off air conditioners. Funny how you can go all fall, winter and spring with no outage and then in summer heat ..... every few days.

How many more wild fires will be started by power lines?
I keep hearing the southwest is going to keep getting hotter and dryer in the next few years.
It's going to get a lot worse out west if it does.
