There’s a good bit of debris even in city treatment water. Just watch what comes out of your pipes after they flow the hydrants once a year.
We have a lot of fibrous stuff coming out of our water. Yet we are rated as best drinking water in the world often. Filters are a necessity everywhere.

One of the reasons I went with 200 gallons of onboard soft water years ago.
To many rural sites with more sediment than water in their wells and pipes.
