Ink Jet explosion

teenager's ink jet printer broke and has she tried to mover it from her room to the garage she left a dozen or so egg sized ink spots on her 15 year old nylon.

She used a "general purpose" cleaner to get the bulk of the thick glops off the carpet and we showed up 36 hours later.

With my Forsythian Spotting Hack Kit I was able to completely loosen the ink with just a few squirts of 40 vol and a few of Isopropyl alcohol

Rinsed right out.

Easiest ink job I've ever done. :!: :!:

1st time I've knowingly worked on ink straight from the cartridge. I was expecting it to be far more concentrated and difficult

Anyone else :?:

I keep two bottles of rubbing alcohol on my truck.

Picked that tip up here and works great.

I haven't tried peroxide on ink.

what is alcohol going to do different than POG??

alcohol will disolve the ink faster, and evaporate, most POG's will not totaly evaporate

always use cold water because ink jets and lasers use heat to set the ink on paper.

Did a clients home office.
As I presprayed a rainbow of splattered color everywhere.
Scared the shit out of me.
Mentioned it to the client as I went to get me extraction hose and wand.
By the time I got back all the 100s of spots had tripled in size.

Extracted right out.
Ink jet printer.

Nice Response time!!!

I love the jobs where it seems imposable, but you somehow knock it out of the Park.
Its, so much better then when you plan on a grand slam, but get blindsided by a curveball.

I told her I could not make it that day, I gave her some other companies to try with no luck. She picked her time slot.

I've worked with several office supply places here for the little boo-boos their printer techs run into.

Good job Mike.
