soft wash is just a generic term from my understanding, sounds better than water blasting for those concerned about paint finish etc

Soft wash is not using high pressure washing at all. Essentially using 12v 8-12gpm 60-200 psi pump from what i have seen the pro softwash guys use.

Water fed pole is example of a softwash system.

dunno you could be right it might have a specific psi/volume

I was talking to 2 house washing guys I know awhile back (I was looking at getting into it) they both can run up to 3000 psi but both market softwash alongside pressure washing etc

*cant remember the Lpm (gpm) they were talking about, but both said water volume was more important than pressure

Correct. High GPM Makes work go significantly faster. Covers more area. Using 3/8" to 1/2" hose with 100 psi at 12gpm is incredibly significant.

Fire hydrant is like 500 - 1000gpm at 20 psi which flow out of 2.5 inch at 300 gpm. Its painful.

Why are you giving them more credit than carpet cleaners for having a clue?

I remember being on the business end of a fire hose when the guy at the controls failed to adjust the pressure/flow down after shutting off one of the other hoses. :eekk:
The dang hose nearly tossed me into the air like a rag doll!-- luckily he figured it out within a few seconds.
It's also a good thing I didn't let go of that hose!
