I have my wands jetted out to 6 gallons. Is that high flow? I know some people in this town only run 2 and 4 gallons... What is high flow? 12 gallons? 24 Gallons?

Am I making any sense or should I just go home?

I don't know. My distributor told me that when we got the new truck mount (before I came to the company) they jetted everything out to six gallons a (I don't know if it's minute or hour, probably minute right?)

Tips are rated at gallons per minute at 2000 (or 3000?) psi.

If it was a 2 jet wand it sounds like 2 jets at 03. If you look at the end of the jet it will have a number. Here is the nomenclature.

xxxzz

x= angle in degees of spray
zz = gallons per minute

09002 = 90 degree jets at 2 gallons per minute

So, if I have two at 03 is that high flow? Am I cool and just didn't know it?

That would be high flow. But if your going to do that make sure the jets are aimed correctly and at the correct distance from the carpet. Hopefully you have good vac and a glide too.

No sense having lots of flow if you aren't shooting it right and picking it up.

With my airpath I get anywhere from 1/2 hour to 2 hour dry times. (Airpath only runs in a room as long as it takes me to clean the next one.)

I think my jets are just aimed straight down. I have a greenglide.

I get pretty good suck out my machine, but my wand is only 1 1/2 inch and I use a 1 1/2 inch lead hose.

I could do something to improve my vac, but I work for peanuts right now so I'm not concerned with adding too much more work into my setup as I already trump most cleaners in my area. When I can bring that price up another 5 cents/foot I will look into running 2-2 in hoses to the door instead of one. Getting a bigger wand and ditching the lead hose will happen soon enough though.

Your jets should be aimed forward so they just hit the back edge of the glide.

You should e-mail Greenie about that.

I'm not going to worry too much about that right now. I should be getting a new wand soon enough, then I can tweak the new one right?

Ditch the whip hose and run a 2" to a 1.5" reducer and then into the wand. That little $3.00 modification will greatly increase usable vacuum. Also if your rpms on your machine are running 3000rpms increase it to 3600rpms it will give you 20% more vacuum. Take what you got and tweak it to increase vacuum. Increasing rpms will generally also increase heat if it is a heat exchange unit. Cleaning with 2- 03's is fine for most companys with technicians who might forget to do extra vac strokes etc. The people here are trying to help you but you must do the leg work. Also check the waste tank seal, a loss in vac can be found here.

14" Greenhorn wands start at 010 flow, with checkvalves it's probably closer to 09 net flow, but it's 1.5X more than most guys use.

We have just as many Greenhorns leave the door with 015 flow for customers with big trucks and or high heat.

And no you don't NEED 2.5" vac hose to run 015 flow, plenty of guys do it with 2" all the way, some even have 020 and report back no significant drying change except more one-pass cleaning and faster production.

Gary, with your White Magic unit you will have better consistant heat control if you increase your jet size, at least bump to 08 flow if it's a traditional PMF style wand with the jets pointed straight down at the carpet keep your pressure the same, if the wand has angled jets where the solution strikes at a forward angle towards the vac slot you can increase pressure about 100 psi with no issues.

I run at 3600 RPM

I just bought the reducer

I am not paying interlink $50.00 for that hunk of metal Y

How much is your greenhorn Greenie?

I just redid my seals on my waste tank and filter box. Big improvement

I always do an immediate two dry strokes after every up and down wet stroke.
