I would have said deal to that one. I wish I had a V to run 2.5 with. It makes a big dif on my pos pto's. You have a lot of wasted energy in that beast with 2" hose. You could always use the 2" you just bought on long runs, for back up, or when your lead hose uglies out. We replace the last 50 on our vans every few months. It just looks better in a home.

I look at it this way, more suck means cleaner carpets. If you flow more water and suck more of it up you don't leave dirty water on the carpets, you leave very little clean water on the carpets.


After we went 2.5 and high flow we can't hardly get a post bonnet to change colors after we clean. The pads stay much cleaner. So we very seldom use them.

What HG reading do you get with a V with 100 ft of 2" open hose? Our wm pro1200 was at 10, now with 2.5 @ 100ft 8hg. I imagine with all the cfm's of a V there would be even more than 2 Hg resistance in that 2".

50 feet of 2.5" and 50 feet of 2" wide open I still run 15hg.
