Stock with a glide is great! We will do our own mods once it gets here! Smoking deal, couldnt be happier to put this on the best machine in its class in the industry!

The design of the glide I got from PMF for my 12 inch is bad. I did speak with someone at PMF about it. They suggested I put a channel down the length of the glide to help with the air flow. That didn't help. As it is, the wand locks down on the carpet and my dry times are horrible. It cleans great, but the carpet is soaking wet compared to my westpak wand.
Given that, until a new glide design comes out, mine isn't getting used.

It's also flat on the tip. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love the wand, but until the glide is fixed, it isn't my go to wand.

That photo above looks just like a "nicely broken in" green glide(with the channel gone).

Am I loosing performance drastically with a "broken in" glide?

Get bigger arms...:stir:
I do understand what you are saying but...
I put fans out to help the carpet dry while I'm cleaning.
In one house I cleaned a room with the SS Ti wand and did dry passes. I put out Dri-pods.
The next room I cleaned with the SS Ti wand and did dry pass with my westpak wand. I put out dri-pods.
The second room dried much faster.
I switched to my westpak wand (with a broken in glide) for the rest of the house. I had to leave the dri-pods in the first room the whole time just to get it kinda dry.
So the problem is with the wand or the glide. With the wand locking down on the carpet with and without the glide, I don't believe the wand has an airflow problem. It must be the glide. Hopefully Green Glides will make a glide for it soon.

I don't see any reason it shouldnt work. Plenty of air should be coming through the carpet fibers. If it locks down you could cut some grooves running perpendicular. I would look at how the spray is hitting the carpet first.

Wands no good if ya can't move it.

I remember when I first got my PCTI, was so excited to go use it with my new tm... And couldn't move the darn thing. I was sweating after cleaning small bedroom.

Came home told my wife, I can't use the thing... I need to spend another 200 on a plastic piece.

Four years later, money very well spent.

These wands are very comparable in that regard. the PC ti and the SS ti are almost impossible to move with a truckmount hooked up to it and no glide. We are running the 14" that came with our newest 570. We have a WP ti greenglide in it. I was told to not hold my breath for GG to make a glide for it. To me, that seems silly because the WP ti is litterlly just barely different. and I'm talking barely.

Have any of you tried using just a rear lip glide? Trust me (I'm the new guy, don't trust me) when I say that's the best way to go. It has the best extraction, and it isn't much harder to push than a full glide.

Also, what kind of valve is on that wand? I hope the v800 is. If it isn't, you might want to consider swapping it. Those are the 2 best things I think a wand should have

Charlie thank you for the comments. I have contacted PMF regarding the glide and we're looking at a few modifications. I may reach out to you to do a little testing for me if that's ok with you? This is the first time I've seen any negative feedback and I want to address it. I want to make it your go to wand!

Thanks!

That would be fine. I would like to try any modifications on the glide.
