So I have a 22 hp Kohler that had a leak around the oil breather gasket. Now it has a huge leak. I put new kit on and was told not to put any sealer on the gasket because its on the gasket.
Started up the motor and oil started leaking I went to make sure all bolts were tight and one stripped ( crap).

So I guess the question I have is when I take it apart again and fix the stripped bolt should seal the crap out of it or do I need A new gasket. Where did I go wrong, besides the the bolt.

Thank You

dude those things are a pain in the arse, i have to tighten mine everyonce in a while, I would go ahead and put some silicone on it what is it going to hurt. I would even go as far as making your own gasket out of cork gasket material that you buy in sheets, so much better on thos stupid gaskets.
