Latex smell in rugs from India?

Couldn't find the thread from last year that addressed this issue.

As I recall, some rugs from India are prone to have a odor after cleaning due to a "funky" Latex adhesive used in construction of said rug. How have you dealt with this odor problem.

This is not uncommon. Bryan has posted his answer many time' s based on this subject. I not only think it is the latex but the jute as well.
