I was considering one back in 1991 ... didn't like the idea of having to give them royalties on my established biz tho

I know what it did for Keith Collins and all I can say is..

Great move Marty.

I just hope you can deal with employees like Keith does.

I hate two things about this thread.

1) I have to spoil it and tell you guys I didn't buy a SM franchise.

2) I have to reveal to you how stupid I am. I was on my way to Birmingham with a new cell phone and I was inputting my answering machine message. I have no idea why I said ServiceMaster, unless I had just passed one of their vans along the way.

Whew.

I'm not sure if I'm more speechless because the secret club had been breached or because Marty could actually forget the name of his company by such a wide margin.

I don't think I've mentioned it here, but my Dad is going through some severe health problems and we stand a reasonable chance of losing him. I have been going to Birmingham daily to be with him, and on some days I have to go to his house in Alex City to cut his grass. All this and run my multi-hundred dollar business at the same time.

It's no wonder I forgot the name of my business.

Why just the other day I answered my phone as Coit and offered the customer a 40% discount...

My ex business partner answered the phone right in front of me one time

"Chem-Dry Express, how can you help me?"

That one just killed me.
Customer laughed too.
Should have seen the look on her face. Total accident.

Marty blames his horrible manners and pissy attitude on his Dad and grandfather.

It will be tough Marty but you already know that.
My best to you through the days ahead.
