I BOUGHT A 3HT LITTLE GIANT OFF OF CRAIGSLIST AND IT IS MISSING THE TOP EXHAUST CAP. CAN YOU RUN THIS MACHINE WITHOUT THE DOME THAT GOES ON TOP? ALSO THE TEMP DIAL LOOS LIKE IT HAS BEEN BROKEN OFF. DO I NEED A NEW THERMOSTAT OR JUST A NEW DIAL?

Don't run it without one.

The top cap is called a diffuser. It is important that it has one otherwise the heat coming out to the top is too focused and too hot for the surfaces it might hit. A local heating and ventilation shop probably supply you one.

Or a good hardware store. They are very common.

As for the thermostat. I lost my red dial sometime back. Never got another one.
