This is my first Live pressure line reel so I have another question..

The reel is leaking alot when the system is running. Is this normal?

The water looks to be coming from the connection in the center of the reel. Can this be repaired? Or do I need a new reel?

ts just a guess at this point but everything else in the van was done by steam genie so I am guessing the hose reels are also steam genie.

Not knowing what type......

Most live reels have a hose that runs threw the inside shaft and connects to the swivel.......check the opposite side of the reel and see if there is a hose going into it..........

you should be able to undo the swivel from the reel and check the connection and/or replace the hose............

Larry B;

I would replace the swivel.

This is the 1/4MPT SS swivel that we use on our live solution reels.

It can be used on several different live reels.

Just replace the swivel with a 3/8" pressure wash quick connect set. Better flow, easy to repair or replace. $8 at Lowes.

Thanks,
Lee

ps. yes it's NOT a "swivel" per se. However it's never spun under much pressure, and only 15 or 20 rotations per typical use. Will last for years.

Unplug the QC from time to time and spray it with WD 40. Parker also make a good lube specifically for QC's but lithium grease is good too.

From experience,
Lee
