As an extremely credentialed Cleaning and Restoration Industry professional with links to many technical organizations , I’ve been keeping my eyes on the instructions for cleaning and remediation regarding Covid- 19.

Here are some application take aways from the CDC and WHO documents.

Hard surfaces need to be cleaned before they are disinfected.

Disinfectants are less effective than scrubbing with soap and water.

Soft surfaces should be laundered if possible.

On carpet and furniture -the lose debris ( soil ) should be removed and then cleaned with a product appropriate to the textile.

To add a bit more by applying other content to application -

The virus outer coating is breached by soap so scrubbing with soap and water is effective.

The virus can be minimized by heat.
Scrubbing with a hotter water and soap and water is going to be more effective.

Viruses can be minimized with household hydrogen peroxide.

The agitation process in scrubbing with soap and water is part of the reason it’s effective so- systems with more agitation could prove effective.

Now :
Heat
Soap Water
Hydrogen Peroxide
Aggressive agitation

So scrubbing with a hot soapy water with a hydrogen peroxide content should raise the effective level of minimization of the virus.

Lets do our best as professionals and employ systems that use all of these to minimize the virus.

USE ( PPE) personal protective equipment in areas of know contamination. Learn how to put PPE on and take PPE off.

These things will help you protect yourself and others as well as increase the odds of minimizing the virus and it’s spread.
