looking to refurbish

hey all, i am looking to refurbish my automatic prochem hose reel with water tank, over time rust takes its toll, i want to sand it down and repaint ,my question is what high quality paint do you recommend that is tough and durable, what color is prochem blue,, thanks for the ideas

I find epoxy paints seem to last and be more scratch resistant.

Prochem Blue is now Rustoleum Dark Grey.

Our old Prochem's smokes it. The Everest is beast, its going to be exciting.

Take it in, and have it powder coated.. Spray paint is for tards! You could also take it in and have it rhino lined! Do it right, unless you're a hack, then it's just fine how it is..

If you do want to rattle can it, go with red Oxide primer.. That's what I was reading. . I'm making an old boat trailer into a utility trailer.. I have to cut off the ass end it rusted .. I rolled it on!

Mikey is right sandblast immediately followed by a coat of self-etching primer......

but if it were i you ......i would drop it off at a powder-coating shop...
drop it off...pick it up!
by the time you buy all the primer and paint that would pay for the powder coating witout the mess and hard work
