I had the Macy warranty for my leather couch and they weaseled out. We got a new cat that scratched it up pretty good. When called to claim on the cat damage that they say we did not report it right away and they require all scratches to be report immediately and bs like that I would like to sue them over it as it is total bs. I knew going in that it was going to be some sort of bs that they would weasel there way out of but when you read it seems like they are easy to work with and this and that. If you google that warranty company you will see 100 or maybe 1000 of other problems too.

That part was for the rugs. The Furniture one includes scrathces, I guess were I f up was "accumulation" and that part can be subjective I would say, I did not think it was accumulation and it not practical for me to make a claim daily I thought. That is why they use terms or words like that I guess.

We went furniture shopping yesterday and visited for more stores and we found a microfiber labeled as DuraPella. That certainly seemed to be the most durable fabric that I've seen, but unfortunately the trend for baseball styles stitching is all the rage and I can't see that stuff surviving our current threat of claw marks, which oddly enough are guaranteed from the Ashley furniture store but the quality of the repair concerns me

Can you imagine getting a call for warranty work on a stained area rug. I would bet they have a hard time finding techs to do that.

Get this, I just "bought" my last shark on 1/7/23 and last week the beater-bar intermittently stopped working. I replaced it yesterday under my BestBuy Warranty, no problem. That was the fastest I've had to return one. They usually last 6 months or a little longer. I forget what number I am on now, probably around 9. Thank you Warranty.

This is why I stopped using the Proteam Vac. I do like it but it hat three issues that ruined it for me. 1. the bags are too small, 2. the vacuum hose is small and tends to clog, 3. the plastic parts break and it takes too long to get parts, hunt them down, and get it fixed.

So, say what you will about the shark Navigator pet, but it works well and when it breaks I can almost instantly get a new one.

I do warranty work for furniture stores through Valspar and usually it is very easy work and everything comes out pretty easily very rarely I can not get everything out. I get paid the same if I get it out or not.

We did warranty work for 3m, guardsman, and phoenix protection back in the 1990's-early 2000's.. $100/pop-$130/pop if you did or didn't remove it.. I do agree if the homeowner didn't try messing with it, you had a 90% success rate.. We did see some "repeat offenders" who knew the system and would get new furniture every 3-4years.. They bark loud enough and be difficult, it'd get replaced.. Back when customer service/customer retention meant something..

My time as a carpet inspector (yeah...before they were called flooring inspectors) pretty much ruined my faith in warranties, the companies that provide them, and humanity as a whole.

We went to four furniture stores and not one of them are actually applying anything to the fabrics anymore.
It's essentially become a betting game that relys on, one; the consumer will forget they paid for the warranty, two; that they can put you on hold long enough to wear you out, or three; they can use any of the Latin legalize BS to weasel their way out of the promises.

Exactly

Consumers are cautioned to remember that casinos don't exist in hopes of high winning percentages, insurance companies don't exist to pay off claims to everyone's satisfaction, nor do these furnishing companies exist to pay out in excess of their profits.

I was fascinated about the Macy's rug program considering they sell some very expensive hand tied rugs. Many stains could be removed if given the time in an inplant setting, but they would rather (pretend) to replace it if the on-site technician who I have to wonder isn't just the new kid on the block willing to take on this pain in the ass work, can't get it out with his CTI Prozyme Extreme ++

Since the amount you pay for the warranty goes by the retail cost of the rug, I'm sure that in some cases the warranty exceeds the wholesale value of the rug.

Get your rugs at Best Buy?
