Have you used a magic eraser sponges for spots on carpet?

Magic erasers are made from a form of melamine foam. Technically, it's a formaldehyde-melamine-sodium bisulfite copolymer foam made by the German company BASF. It was invented as an insulator and fire retardant. That it cleans like the dickens was a happy coincidence. Melamine is an extremely hard polymer and it's what gives things like Formica laminate its rigidity. However, when it's pumped full of air something interesting happens. Despite the fact that the material itself is very hard, the tiny strands that make up the foam's matrix feel soft to the touch. On a microscopic level, those rigid little strands are very abrasive, like super fine grit sandpaper.

I know housecleaners who swear by them!

For carpet? Why not?
I know that I regularly use the center discs out of aggressive scrubbing pads when spotting carpet. Especially on those bad olefin or polys.
The pad works great on the stairs, and nose of stairs.

I tried wood floor cleaning using the melamine pad with the Vibe. Only 4-inches in from the edge picked up dirt. ???? :errf:

Not enough weight?

They’re great on multi-purpose gym floors. They even get ink out or off.

So you can’t use this pad with a 175?
That hard floor video on his phone demonstrating that nothing was able to clean it but this pad and machine is suspect to me. Doesn’t sound right that a weighted floor machine with the right pad could not clean it.
