You should check out his video on his water well that he made. I have a given some props for being creative and make it happen when you just don't have the money.

While streaking a nice Rayon Rug I was wondering about this the other day, by using a 3D Printer.

I wonder if the holes drilled out are sharp enough to distort fibers.
.

seems like he would have taken a file or heat to them

overall not a bad idea/job though.

would be a pita taking it off to clear out the wand head with needed and a few other issues

Me...I'd just buy a glide...still its saving $100+

I might try making one this week....to see how many passes before it fails...wonder if I can find wider teflon pipe and if I did if it would behave in a similar fahion

I follow him too I think he is pretty good. I relate with him more because I'm only a couple years into my business and I jiggy/modifying stuff to not to that level though. Like I said I give them props on making it happen.

Gotta hand it to him....lots of ingenuity!
"Necessity is the mother of invention"
And Jacob seems to have a lot of both.
Next he is going to show us how to make a Trk Mnt from a lawn mower and a Hoover....watch out "big 3"

Glides are all about having a rounded surface. And when the carpet is damp this cheap glide will work. These glide makers have borrowed my ideas by adapting my "Smooth Flow ElectroCob" to make more money off of idiot carpet cleaners. Teflon GLIDES are nothing more than my ElectroCob in concept......easy slide.

Oh by the way you can get my ElecrtoCob on sale now for $149 FREE SHIPPING

Using other plastics, rather than PTFE, will leave snags in the glide surface making it rough, and tearing fibers from the carpet. PTFE is self-healing when you scratch it on tack strip pins or hard surfaces.
This 'self healing' concept intrigues me

Is it because it is a softer material? Cause We gouge glides all the time and they don't self heal... They also last almost a year so they are well worth the investment

It's just not realistic to look at what you saved making without due consideration of what cost you.

What is an hour of your time worth? How much more money could you generate in an hour of your time?

While these DYS projects are certainly fun and challeging, your time would be much better spent working "On your business" not "In" your business.

Time is so limited in a day they we must make choices, just don't fool yourself into thinking that you are "saving money".

If you decide it's the best use of your time, that's fine. Just don't later wonder why you are not growing or can't keep your schedule full.
