Lost the entire Christmas Tree on my vortex the other night. including running lights and instrument cluster lights.

10amp fuse blown so i replaced it. Last night, same problem.

I'm gonna have to track down the gremlin!

Not sure where to start so i have to look for the obvious.

any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks!

if it were me I would start in the box......and look at all the wires that lay up in the top side gutters.....they were not real good about securing them down and you may have one that rubbed and is shorting out when you hit a bump or vibration......replace the fuse and turn them on...start grabbing and moving wires and watch for the spark.....check all wires that are coming threw the box next to the metal....

Michael, I had a short where the wire came up through the floor, in the rear right corner of the box.

Thanks for the help!

I found two shorts.

One inside the gutter of the box and a marker that didn't have a good ground.

Looks like the wiring came loose from the gutter and got chopped in half by the roll-up door.

That was too flipping easy! It has to be something else .

It's a 12 year old Vortex ya know.

I'll run it the rest of the week and keep you posted.

Same thing happened to two of mine. I ended up upgrading all lights to LEDs also - very inexpensive upgrade that looks great especially if you do alot of after hours work.
