Methinks someone had equipment failure.

Did a house today that was just cleaned last week by another company. It was really browned out and stunk like dirty water. I'm thinking the other company had an issue with whatever tool they used? They wouldn't come back out and look at it....bad move!
Meanwhile I picked up a very nice new client with a nice home!

Could it be they closed the house up with no air movement? We see that occasionally when weather is too warm for heat and too cold for AC. The homeowner doesn't put the HVAC fan on or use a plug in fan and it struggles to dry properly.

Its shortsighted on their part to not return for any issue. Good for you Kellie!

Although without the pink laces....how do we know it really you? :winky:

The customer said that she was home all that day and had the windows open as it was really nice out. She said that even with all the air movement it took forever to dry.

Who knows what they did. I went to stretch a house last week. I asked them if they wanted the carpet cleaned too. They said it was just done. It looked like hell.
I did another repair on a living room carpet. The lady wanted me to take my shoes off because it was just cleaned. She was very proud of her clean house. The carpet stunk.
So, it probably isn't an equip problem, but a hack problem.

Love those "it was just cleaned".... And when I ask how long ago really.: they start contemplating about "you knooow when aunty Rosemary was visiting in the summer....of 2013"

Yeah... Not exactly "just cleaned".

Or they keep those.. I have customers that still have tabs from 5 6 years ago... I just reuse them every time.

I saw a machine that recirculates the waste water. Yep, it takes the slops, filters it a bit and runs it right back out for another go.

Reminded me of an Arab lady that worked for us back in Bethlehem who'd pour the goat milk through a cheescloth to filter out the hay and bugs. When it got too clogged, she'd just turn it over and keep going... She was very conscientious and wanted to do a good job.

That's what that carpet looks like, Kellie.

I went to an auction several years ago when a national chain went out of business. They had 5 pto units for sale. I checked all the machines out, ran them a bit and all of them were beat to he'll. Looked like no maintenance had ever been done. On one machine the pre lint filter was clean but the stainless blower filter was crushed because of all of the lint and debris on it. There are probably a lot of machines like that out there. You can have the most powerful tm in the world but if you don't clean those filters, it won't suck big time. But your job will

We have several companies in our operating area that use small slide in units, while I believe the units are capable of recovering most of the water applied, the lack of maintenance is obvious by the looks of the van!!!!!
