potential customer calls and house he is moving out of has mold. they have had the house tested and it showed mold spores in the air. he is moving into another house and needs the sofa and area rug cleaned. am wondering if normal cleaning would take care of this? any advice on this??

I think ALL homes would test positive for some type of mold...?? Is it visible? What's the source?? As far as the furniture & rug, i would think some good deep cleaning, rinse/extraction and antimicrobial would be fine...as long as it's not too far gone? This custy might be a clean freak and have a 1"X1" spot of mold somewhere and thinks he's gonna die, maybe something worth inspecting?

Short answer NO.

Long answer what where the parts per million? Did the IAQ tell them they have a problem? If so then you need to find the problem, Isolate the problem and then remove the problem. Cleaning the sofa and area rug won't solve any of those issues. It might help with the amount of mold spores he transports to the new place but it will have no effect on the problem.
