in recent months i've caught 2 janitors mopping the carpet. both were retired, around 70 years of age. it really was making a mess, i always wondered why a quarterly account was looking so shabby! when i questioned each, they looked at ME like i was crazy...as if it were the most normal thing in the world to do.

is this something that they did back in the 40's or 50's??

maybe this is blog-worthy...

Yes, this was once done.

Think of it as "bonnet cleaning" at a VERY VERY low RPM.

People also once thought that smoking was good for your teeth, was a healthy way to curb appetite, and lengthened your life.

My uncle suffered from OCD
Got up every day at 4:30 and mopped his carpets.
Ever wash a bar of soap before? one stroke and my 56 blower was overwhelmed.

I think Argosheen used to have that as a slogan - "Mop your carpets clean." But they did have a carpet mop, not the one used for the restroom.

I 've done it while working for a school district. The key is knowing what to use.
