Looks like it cleans pretty good. Congratulations on your new truckmount. I don't like the bypass valve on the wand though but that's just me.
I don't clean tile and grout yet so I have no experience but wouldm't it be easier to clean walking forward rather than walking backwards and tripping over the hoses behind you? Or do you have dirty footprints behind you on freshly cleaned tile and have to mop or wipe them up?

I hate it when that happens but working backwards doesn't seem as mandatory as it is with carpet cleaning.

Working backwards is more of a requirement on tile than it is on carpet. If you avoid leaving footprints on the clean tile, there is no reason to wipe or damp mop when finished. It doesn't matter if you are going to seal the grout.

Bill all the bypass does is bring the hot water to the wand very quickly you don't need one but it sure comes in handy when you want one.

Thanks Gary,
I understand the purpose of the bypass valve. I'm just not comfortable with the idea of having to open the bypass valve to prevent the heat exchanger from going nuclear. I work alone and have to put the wand down for longer periods of time than a 2 man crew would have to. That's why I like my fuel fired system.

My understanding is Amtex systems don't have a diverter valve? I hope to someday upgrade to a larger system (probably a heat exchanger and get a part time helper) but I would set it up so any hot water would be bypassed back to a water box or fresh water tank rather than waste tank then have to remember to crack open and valve on my wand.

The Amtex looks like a good little machine and makes some pretty good hot water, but I just don't trust my memory that much.

My equipment doesn't have a diverter valve but it does have a Northstar diesel burner I can put my wand down for as long as I want because the diesel fired burner only fires upon drawing water to the wand you pull the trigger it only fires then when it senses water so that's no problem at all About remembering when to open the bypass I work alone also.

Sounds like my Powermatic set up. I'm sorry, I thought yours was a heat exchange system, I don't know a lot about the Amtex line. I guess I misunderstood the purpose of the bypass on your wand.. I thought it was to prevent the heat exchangers from overheating. My bad.
Keep us posted on how it performs for you. I think a lot of guys would be curious about its performance and reliability.
