Here's the scenario.

Ceramic tile with brown grout. My customer uses a product called Grout eez that is an acidic sulfuric smelling product. He wipes it on and thinks that just using clean rinse rags is enough. Well it dries, leaves behind a haze and his brown grout is now grey. I come to clean his carpet and notice his mess. I didn't know what product he used, so I did the normal alkaline treatments and rinsed at 1000psi plain water. The haze off the tile is now gone, but the grout is still grey. I find out what product he used after and came to the conclusion that the acid sitting on the grout did the damage.

Is there a way to reverse that chemically to restore the brown grout or does the top layer of grout need to be grinder off?
